Avon, once a sleepy, lettuce-producing community, Avon has emerged as a major commercial center of the upper Eagle Valley. Shops and services are located throughout the town center, in many easy-to-access plazas such as Chapel Square, Wal-Mart and City Market. Currently being developed to the east is the Village at Avon residential community along with super-Wal-Mart and Home Depot. Avon's main attraction is Nottingham Park, a family recreation area.
